Use cart variants in browse layout

There is a site where the VM category layout uses VM grid to show the products.
The site uses some cart attributes in addtocart layout position. The grid shows them but they doesn't work. No matter which I select, it doesn't put to the cart. Also when I select a variation with additional charge, it doesn't change the price.
I'm looking for a kind of solution like demo.virtuemart.net . If you choose a variant with additional charge, it changes the prices above the dropdowns.
The best scenario would be not to show the additinal charge in the dropdown, only the variant name, and change the price on the change.

Is it possible to do with vmuikitx?

The ajax does work well in productdetails.
