Disable register button if registration is not available

Hi, in the default events booking layout the register-button is disabled under different circumstances (if the event is fully booked or the logged in user doesn't have permission to register). I have now built my own layout but the link is always shown. Is there a way to adapt the logic of the standard layout to the JP CS layout?
