Dynamic content in grid element

Is it possible to implement event booking in an element on the homepage, for example.
I would like to create an overview of upcoming activities. 
If I choose a grid element and want to enter dynamic content there related to Joomla Pro cs Event Booking, the field remains blank.
Does JP CS Event Booking only work on templates/pages of a menu item type Event Booking Catogory -Default layout?
