Stay on same page where the user log in

Hi,
When a user browses to a subpage on my website and logs in, I need the user to remain on that URL and not be redirected to the homepage.I have many articles behind a paywall. To read the full article, you must sign up or log in if you are already a member.How can I achieve this with the tool?

I figured it out. I had a Joomla default login menu item with a button class, and thought it was the user tool.

I deactivated the menu item and placed a user tool module next to the menu bar and now it's working like intended.
